About Me
Hello, my name is Meleesa Pellerino
and I have lived in the Grass
Valley area since
December 2003. My family and I moved here from Thousand Oaks, CA
and I workede at the Cut n’ Curl Company Salon since January '05 and loved it! Now I'm located at DanaeMarie's Salon & Boutique in Grass Valley as of November 21st, 2011!
I began my career in the hair and
makeup industry in 1982, but my love for the art began as a kid. At the age of 8 or 9 I began doing makeup on
anyone who would sit still. I started cutting hair on
myself and my friends in the 7 grade. Why they let me do that, I’ll
never know! But hey, it looked pretty good. That’s when the Shag was in. Oh wait, I think it's back!!
I graduated High school and went
into beauty college where I quickly found that my love for painting and
artistic design was best used in hair coloring and creating new cuts. I loved every
minute of it then and still do today – 30 yrs later.
In Jr. College I took a few
theatrical makeup classes and almost went into the movie industry, but declined
the job. I never regretted that decision. Today, I play around with fun makeup
on Halloween. A few years ago, I was FLO the Progressive Girl and I turned my husband

What makes my job more than a
job? It’s the people. I love working with people and lifting their spirits by giving
them a fresh new look.
